Nutrition
At Pro Kidz Early Learning Centre, we recognise the importance of healthy nutrition when providing food and beverages for the children in our care.
We understand the significant role that the early childhood setting’s play in developing healthy eating habits and attitudes for the children in our care.
- Our educators constantly model healthy nutrition practices and sit and participate in mealtimes with the children. The educators engage with the children, discussing the food they are eating along with healthy food choices. The children are encouraged to try the food that is on offer, but their individual likes and dislikes are always respected, therefore there is always an alternate food option for children who do not wish to eat the food that is on offer. Educators take the time to promote a relaxed mealtime that promotes a positive social time for the children.
- Our centre employs a fully qualified chef who prepares the delicious, nutritious meals for our children on a daily basis. The food that is used is sourced locally from fresh food providers. The chef carefully designs the menu that aligns with the ‘Australian Dietary Guidelines’. The menu incorporates a range of culturally diverse and most of all nutritious and delicious food.
- Children that have specific food allergies, dietary requirements and cultural and religious practices are supported and alternate meals will be prepared according to the requirements.
We encourage and welcome family recipes to add to our menu. We also invite our families to participate in cooking experiences with the children. If you are interested in participating in a cooking experience, please email us at info@prokidz.com.au
